Allies Center
Who We Are
Celebrate the richness of our world. Explore the culture in which you were raised, and learn about and explore the difference of others. The Sage Colleges invite students, faculty, administrators and staff from all backgrounds to participate in building a community where an understanding of difference and an appreciation for diversity foster mutual respect.
The Allies Center is designed to work toward the development of a community collectively and proactively engaged in addressing multicultural issues with an emphasis on ally-building, community, conflict education, social justice, and social responsibility. The Allies Center for Social Responsibility incorporates the following areas of study under the banner of social responsibility:
- Diversity/Multiculturalism
- Conflict Mediation and Education
- Social Responsibility/Social Justice
- Community Relations
- Ethics
- Labor
- Environment
- Human Rights
- Democracy
We offer College-wide and community programming developed to open up dialogue and foster an understanding of difference - e.g. difference in race, class, gender and sexual orientation - as well as social justice. The Center is also the home of The Allies Conflict Mediation and Education Center, one of the few all-college, all-level centers in the US.

"If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place."
