"I received a high quality education at Sage Graduate School, and my Master's degree in Public Administration has helped me to further my career in public service. Two years ago I was accepted into the New York State Public Management Institute program, administered by the NYS Department of Civil Service, and am now employed by the New York State Education Department, Office of Cultural Education.

I liked the small classes at Sage, and found that the professors in the program always made an effort to get to know their students as individuals. Another plus was the convenient scheduling of classes, including the weekend institutes. The research I completed as part of my courses was relevant to the work I was doing, and the valuable skills I learned provided me with the ability to meld public administration theory with practice."

"My experience at Sage has allowed me to accomplish two goals. First, it has allowed me to obtain the credentials to broaden my professional career opportunities and to pursue my interest to obtain a higher level position in research. Second, my Sage experience has helped me accomplish my personal goal to learn about the elderly in our society and perform research on a technique that can be used to help keep elderly incontinent nursing home residents dry. Perhaps most important is that my Sage Graduate School education taught me the skills and helped me to obtain the knowledge I need to accomplish my professional and personal goals. Sage provides a very "well-rounded" educational experience in a flexible part-time format that fit my busy schedule."

"The Sage Graduate degree programs offer a combination of courses that encourage individual growth as well as accumulation to team-oriented projects, similar to the environment I have seen in the workplace. The flexible program (director) allowed me to integrate MBA courses into the Health Services Administration degree enabling me to become a well rounded individual, thus, more marketable to potential employers. As a result of my personal diligence and the guidance provided by Sage Graduate School professors, I am a professional in the public health field, a field that I have always aspired to build a career in."

"Obtaining the HSA degree from the Sage Graduate School in 1998 has helped me grow personally and professionally. The degree provides a well-rounded foundation in the health care arena. Personally, the coursework and the thesis process helped me gain confidence in myself and my abilities. I discovered creativity in myself that I never imagined. It has opened new doors for me in the health care field. Professionally, I believe my experience at Sage Graduate School helped me advance my career in the field of health care and information technology."

"In the summer of 1995, it became very clear that in order to succeed in the Health Care field; it was essential to achieve a higher level of education. After much research of various Health Services Administration graduate programs in the area, Sage Graduate School seemed to offer the most well-rounded, flexible program. As I began attending classes in the fall of 1995 on a part-time basis, it was evident that I made the correct choice of programs. The classes were both challenging and rewarding. The faculty was extremely knowledgeable and eager to have all students succeed. The availability to attend classes in four-day sessions made it very conducive to succeed at both my full-time job and classes.

Then came the most fulfilling and fruitful time of my college life. It was time to prepare my thesis. Through the persistent direction and support Dr. Michael Hall, I began to clearly understand the purpose and reward of preparing a thesis. I was suddenly able to capture and document the many theories and forms of statistical analysis that I had learned over the previous three years. The sense of pride and accomplishment was at a level never before experienced. My perseverance and dedication to succeed returned many benefits. I was named the Graduate of the Year in 1998. This accomplishment was very satisfying as it made me realize the significance of a remarkable mentor and the abilities the Health Services Administration program at Sage Graduate School afforded me.

Since graduation, my skill set has reached a level only attainable from attending classes and preparing a thesis. In the fall of 1998, I was promoted to Manager at my then current job. This managerial position allowed me to use the many skills obtained at Sage. My staff of five and I were able to make many strides in a short period of time. In 1999, I was experienced and educated enough to receive a position at Albany Medical Center Hospital. This managerial position included the direction of three separate units and 28 reporting staff. In March of 2001, I was promoted to Director of Patient Financial Services, responsible for 4 Managers and a total staff of 80.

I truly feel that Sage Graduate School; the complexity of classes and the faculty all contributed to the success I have reached to this point. I would strongly encourage any student who is willing to work hard, learn and persevere to attend the Health Services Administration program at Sage Graduate School."
